Gluckman-Mayner Spare Watch

The Spare Watch is an all stainless steel unisex watch with a sandblasted lens with clear etched indices allowing the polished tips of the hands to shine through at the correct time and with understated elegance. Understated elegance, The Spare Watch was first designed by Richard Gluckman in 1997 and released one year later.

This modern and contemporary watch has a "sandblasted" glass crystal with clear cut out boxes fore each index so the the cans be seen passing by.  At first your eyes appear to be deceiving you with a "blurry" look at the time and then minutes later the clear and distinct silver color of the hands show up in the cut out box of the glass lens. The Spare Watch is one of Projects' true classics and a signature piece of the Projects Collection.  What better way to honor the great design icons of the 20th century than to own a piece of "mini architecture".

The Spare Watch by Richard Gluckman is available with a brown leather band or a black leather band.  It measures 33mm in diameter which is a perfect unisex size.  It is all stainless steel and water-resistant. The Spare Watch is Gluckman's 5th design for PROJECTS.

Other designs included The Spare Clock, The Time-Off Clock, Spare Alarm Clock, "Inside the White Cube" Cookie Jar, and the Absence Scarf.
