Tangency
The 40mm case and brushed finish of the stainless steel Tangency watch from designer Joel Escalona closely follows the trends of haute horlogerie—or the high art of watchmaking. Its dial is a geometric game revealing curious movements where the seconds are the real protagonists, moving on an independent dial of the hour and minute hands. This geometrical wonder is both a stunning timepiece and a study in kinetic sculpture for the wrist.
Joel Escolona
Pragmatic, humorous and poetic are all words often used to describe designer Joel Escolona’s work. His work—centered around the belief that ideas should engage meaningfully while pushing limits of contemporary design—has been featured in some of the most prestigious publications and major design events around the world, including Maison & Objet Paris, Salone Internazionale del Mobile Di Milano, Design Miami/Basel, ZⓢONAMACO. Additionally, Escolona also works as the creative director for two internationally-known contemporary furniture companies—nono and BREUER—and is a founding member of Cooperative Panorámica—a collective of Mexican designers.
