Design: Michael Graves
At the intersection of Witherspoon Street and Paul Robeson Place sits The Paul Robeson Center for the Arts in Princeton, New Jersey. Architect Michael Graves honors the project with the Witherspoon series of watches. The Witherspoon WHITE with WHITE Band by Michael Graves features a WHITE color with a WHITE leather band. We’ve had many requests over the years to offer a smaller version of the Witherspoon, and here it is. As with our other Witherspoon watches, this ladies Witherspoon Watch variation evokes the rich tones of the building’s earth tones as well as its bold vistas of the town’s center. The watch is filled with subtle detail: from the matching white color on the crown, to the matching white color of the second hand, to the large numbers with raised indexes in a rich black color.
The Witherspoon WHITE has black hands, black numbers and a blue second hand.
Michael Graves received his architectural training at the University of Cincinnati and at Harvard University. Among his many completed projects were the Portland Building, the Humana Building, the Clos Pegase Winery in the Napa Valley, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels. Graves was the winner of fifteen Progressive Architecture Design Awards, nine American Institute of Architects National Honor Awards, and thirty-eight New Jersey Society of Architects, AIA Awards.
The ladies Witherspoon Watch in WHITE with WHITE Band measures 30mm in diameter (1.15″) and 8.45mm high (0.33″), is made of stainless steel, and complemented by a 16mm white leather band (0.63″) with white stitching.
