Design: Alessio Romano (2015)
Optical GRAY’S origins were born observing the culture and style of the 60s. In particularly the OPTICAL art (Op art) and its greatest exponents (Victor Vasarely, Bridget Riley, Richard Anuszkiewicz) works. My goal being to create an optical illusion by the movement of the hour and minute.
“The status of instability perception is engaging every time you look at this watch”.
Optical GRAY is made of black IPB stainless steel and complemented with a black silicone band, and utilizes a high quality Japanese movement. It is considered the perfect unisex-size case measuring 37mm. Right in between our largest 40mm and smallest 33mm unisex sizes. The watch measures 9.5” from end to end; to 6.5″ at the closest hole and 8.5″ inches from the farthest hole.
